Joseph Robson was sacked by York City on the 7th May 2016 following a dismal six months in charge. He had a win percentage of just 27%, winning six matches. Nevertheless, Robson set about his search for a new employer within weeks of his dismissal. Guiseley, Welling, Accrington Stanley and Morecambe all offered Robson job interviews, among several others. Robson, however, decided to only attend interview to clubs League Two standard or higher.
